National Refugee Orientation Centre, Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo
Ireland is one of 22 countries that takes part in the annual UNHCR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) Refugee Resttlement Programme.
In 2007, Bridgestock Ltd was chosen as the accommodation service provider for the Refugee Resettlement Programme for the three year period to 2010 and the National Refugee Orientation Centre was opened at Bruach Na Habhainn, Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo.

Upon arrival into Ireland, Refugees spend their initial 6 to 8 weeks living in the centre being inducted into Irish life, after which they are resettled by local authorities in different parts of the country.
In any one year, up to 200 Refugees from the UNHCR Programme pass through the centre.
